Hold on tightly to your horses, because by the looks of the first full trailer, season 7 will be one intense (and tense) ride. 

"For a long time we've been talking 'the wars to come'", said show-runner David Benioff in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Well, that war is pretty much here. So it's really about trying to find a way to make the storytelling work without feeling like we're rushing it.'"

 

The penultimate season will feature just seven episodes, but it is rumoured that they will longer than normal. Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, said: "We only have seven episodes this time, but we're shooting for just as long, so there's just as much content."


Game of Thrones will return to HBO in the U.S. on 16 July 2017.
