7 Films to watch with dad this Father’s Day

The Godfather (1972)

You can’t go wrong with this mob classic, and dad could hardly say no to one of the greatest films of all time.

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Or you could go on a whole Star Wars movie marathon, especially if dad is a fan. But if we had to choose one out of all of them, we’d go with The Empires Strikes Back for the iconic Luke/Darth lightsaber battle scene.

Meet the Parents (2000)

For laughs with the family, put on Meet the Parents, which follows groom-to-be Greg Focker’s disastrous first meeting with his girlfriend’s family.

Big Fish (2003)

An engaging story of a father who always told exaggerated stories of his life and his son, Big Fish will take you on an enchanting ride as William (the son) sets out to unravel fact from fiction when he learns that his father’s days were numbered.

Beginners (2010)

Based on the real-life story of director Mike Mills’ father coming out at the age of 75, Beginners examines the kinship of father and child, and the importance of honesty and openness in relationships.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Because everyone loves Finding Nemo. It’s hard not to love this Pixar classic with its vivid animation and endearing story of fatherhood and letting go.

Captain Fantastic (2016)

Viggo Mortensen plays Ben, a father who raised his six children away from civilisation in the Washington wilderness. But when his wife passes away, Ben must take his children into the outside world for the first time.
