How to: Get the perfect glow as seen at Dior Haute Couture SS17

To complement Maria Grazia Chiuri’s fairytale-inspired haute couture collection for the house of Dior earlier this week, Peter Philips created an equally romantic beauty look, with flawless, luminous complexion punctuated by the occasional sequins and stars for a dreamy element. “I delved into the mysterious atmosphere and the play on seduction in this collection, which presents the hide/reveal aspect of a masked ball,” says Philips. “This is a young woman with a modernised pre-Raphaelite beauty. It was essential to emphasise her soft luminosity and sensuality.”

Here’s how you can get the look:

Face

The complexion was kept light and flawless, with a natural glow effect. To achieve this, Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Primer was applied as base. Then, he used Dior Forever Perfect Cushion foundation to create a perfect canvas.

A light rosy tint by way of Diorblush n°756 and 876 is brushed on the cheeks, followed by touches of Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer n°001 on the brow bone, the bridge of the nose, and the Cupid’s bow for a lovely glow.

Eyes

Eye makeup was kept at a minimal to “bring out the play on starry glitter”. Forgoing mascara, Diorshow Mono n°317 “Metaphore” was used on the eyelids to unify the looks, along with Diorshow Khôl n°529 in beige along the lower lash line.

“I created several variations to personalise each girl. The glitter was applied in a “Stardust” shower on the cheekbones swept up towards the temples. But I also chose the metallic purity of a single, bigger, more ‘rebel attitude’ star placed on the inner corner of each eye or at the centre of the lower lid.”

Lips

Lips were prepped and smoothed with the Lip Sugar Scrub, with a light touch of Dior Addict Lacquer Stick n°550 “Tease” (not available in the market yet) in the middle of the lower lip, giving the lips a discreet shine for a natural, plumped look.
