How to up your selfie game: New beauty stash additions for photo-ready skin

Plagued by dull skin that doesn’t exactly look the most flattering in photos? Don’t shy away from cameras pointing your way just yet — these four new products that were just launched this January will guarantee a photo-ready finish.

Shiseido Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother does essentially what its name suggests. It acts as a smart filter that absorbs excess sebum and minimizes the size of pores, all with a light velvety serum texture that’s a combination of oil-targeting micro powder and botanical extracts. When the formula comes in contact with the skin, it delivers powder to the pores that are sebum-filled. You definitely don’t need Snapchat filters with this product.

Shiseido has revived its Rainbow Face Powder that was launched in 1917, this time with the 7 Lights Powder Illuminator that boasts seven light-reflecting powders for a fresh face. This compact has two key powders that can adjust to different skin conditions—the Smooth Dryness Reset Powder spreads evenly on dry parts of your face, while the smooth Stickiness Reset Powder absorbs excess sebum over oily areas of the skin. The best part? It’s got a hint of citrusy, floral fragrance blended with lemon oil for a rejuvenating touch.

Inspired by the warm glow that a candlelight casts over a woman’s face, Laura Mercier’s Candleglow Concealer and Highlighter helps to lighten visible discolourations on your skin while creating a natural, lit-from-within glow. It comes in an applicator that’s easy to fit around the contours of your eyes, along with illuminating shadows around the nose and mouth. Tip: Use it to accentuate the highest points of your face that catch the light—your brow bone, cheekbones, and cupid’s bow.

After you’re done with your makeup, remember to set your face with pressed powder. Laura Mercier Candleglow Sheer Perfecting Powder offers a diffused, luminous glow on the face to even out your skin. It has sheer to medium coverage to flatter your complexion without leaving a cakey effect. You can use it both ways: Apply with a finishing brush for a subtle glow, or use a bronzer brush to build more coverage for a flawless finish.
