The idea of foundation application can be simple to some, but a few of the oft-heard setbacks is the cakey finish upon the skin, and the unintentional, high-shine result after a long day out in a humid environment (looking like you've just ran a marathon with a face-full of makeup!)
With that, Parisian beauty guru Terry de Gunzburg created the Teint-Expert collection under her eponymous makeup line By Terry to offer a fuss-free experience of foundation application while achieving a natural, professional finish.
One of the highly rated products within this line is the Light-Expert Click Brush, RM269—the redesigned brush-foundation that's ideal for highlighting, touching up, blending and sculpting just by one click. With a mimetic, feather-light formula that has micro pigments and mineral powders for a smooth, radiant finish, this product comes with a kabuki brush for precision and to reach the crevices of your face.
Tip: Click once (four drops of fluid will be released), stroke and extend the fluid outwards from the centre of your face.
The azimuth design of the Sponge Foundation Brush, RM155, makes it a versatile tool for defining, blending, contouring and highlighting angles. While the rounded part is to apply the foundation on the skin, the flatter part is for sculpting the facial form.
Tip: Apply foundation in a gentle dabbing motion with the brush for a natural finish.
We also had a quick chat with By Terry's global ambassador Albane Laloy regarding her classic makeup look and the one skincare tip she's got up her sleeve:
What is your go-to makeup look that never fails?
Fresh complexion, for sure. Whatever I do, I always want to look fresh because it looks healthy and radiant—and that's the most important thing. So I'd say a makeup look that is easy and not too much coverage. The Light-Expert Click Brush is the right answer because it's on-the-go and I like the dewy, glowing finish. Also, a blusher is a must-have for any French girl because it makes you look younger. A red lipstick and black mascara is the answer to everything—I personally use By Terry Terrybly Velvet Rouge in My Red. Filling in your eyebrows are important as well, I never miss doing my eyebrows because it frames and balances your face.
How would you recommend the smudged eye makeup look for those residing in a warmer, humid climate?
Use an eyeliner pencil and then set eyeshadow powder over it. I recommend By Terry Eye Designer Palette because the eyeshadow texture sets it nicely. There is no need to smudge excessively if you prefer not to, but if you do, it gives a mysterious and more sensual look.
What is one skincare or beauty tip that you can share with us?
I use By Terry Baume De Rose on my eyebrows. First of all, it's nourishing and conditions my eyebrows wonderfully. It also gives a sleek finish and some form of body to my brows. Every night before I go to bed, and after I've applied some on my lips, I'll use the remaining product on my finger over my brows. I do it sometimes to models too during photoshoots—it's a lovely eyebrow conditioner as well as a lip balm and cuticle treatment.
