Aside from her envy-inducing curves and blessed good looks, American model and actress Emily Ratajkowski is known for being a vocal advocate of “modern feminism”. The leggy brunette has always stood firm that confidence in your own individuality brings out the beauty from within, and her latest role as the face of Kérastase is affirmation of that.
“Hair is essential to how I express myself. I love that feeling of clean, textured, natural hair—that instantly makes me feel more confident. I consider my hair as the reflection of inner strength. It’s not an ornament but a way to express myself,” says Ratajkowski in an official press release. “I think that’s true for all women. There’s such an empowering femininity to hair. In the newest campaign for the haircare brand shot by fashion photographer duo Inez & Vinoodh, Ratajkowski makes a shirtless statement in a black and white image with her tousled, voluminous mane, letting her locks take centre stage. 1. How does beauty make women stronger?
ER: Confidence in what makes you unique, and an appreciation and self love will make you stronger in all that you do.
2. What is your vision of ideal beauty?
ER: My vision of an ideal beauty is a woman who is completely her own self.
3. What is your beauty weapon?
ER: I like to feel that I don’t have to worry about my hair—clean and shiny hair that still manages to have volume is important.
4. What is your favourite Kérastase product?
ER: I absolutely love the Elixir Ultime Oil. I put it on my ends before styling and sometimes I add it all over the lengths of my hair after blow drying.
5. Tell us about how you and your hair feels like when using the Elixir line?
